Health Alert – U.S. Embassy Windhoek, Namibia

Event:  Commercial Flight Delayed on Air Namibia, Limited Seats Still Available

Air Namibia has informed the U.S. Embassy in Windhoek that the flight from Windhoek to Frankfurt and then onward to London that was originally scheduled for May 27 has been delayed until June 2.  If you had already purchased tickets for the May 27 flight, they are being automatically rebooked for the June 2 flight.  The Embassy has been informed that only a few seats are still available.

The flight will depart Windhoek at 8:00 a.m. and arrive in Frankfurt at 18:20 local time.  It will then depart Frankfurt at 20:20 local time and arrive in London at 20:50 local time.  Passengers would need to book onward travel to the United States via commercial flights.  The cost of the flight from Windhoek to Frankfurt is N$23,200.00 per person.  The cost of the flight from Windhoek to London is N$23,870.00 per person.  Tickets must be booked directly with Air Namibia by contacting Ebson Ngondo at +264 61 299 6363, +264 81 165 3655, or by email at ebson.ngondo@airnamibia.aero.  Please reach out to him today, May 26, if you would like to purchase a seat on this flight, as space is very limited.

As a reminder, routine air traffic is not set to resume until June 30 at the earliest, per the measures announced by the Namibian Government.  Additional information about these measures, can be found on the Namibian Presidency’s Facebook page.

The Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services has confirmed 21 cases of COVID-19 in Namibia.

The Department of State has issued a Global Level 4 Health Advisory for COVID-19, and the Centers for Disease Control issued on March 27, 2002 a global Warning Level 3 Travel Health Notice to avoid nonessential international travel.
